Legend of Korra :D

So I was bored yesterday and decided to sketch up Korra and Mako from Legend of Korra, one of my favorite shows ever. I added color today, though I still need to add the skin tone for Mako... don't have a good colored pencil for that yet. Lighting and shadows will be added soon (and firebending), but for now it's just pencil and colored pencil. Very happy with them so far though :)

(I know it may have come out a bit blurry but it's almost midnight and agh I don't feel like taking another picture and uploading it onto here) More fan art to come too peeps! I may even get a deviant art account... it looks so fancy to me at the moment...

And oh my God guys... I just saw Book Four's trailer O_O I like Korra with short hair, and I can't believe it takes place three years later! It looks amazing!! Here it is if you haven't seen it already:

I knew it!! I predicted it!! "...Toph?" YESSSSS SHE'S COMING BACK I KNEW IT OH MY GOSH MAJOR FANGIRLING RIGHT NOW!!!! And Meelo has hair now and Jinora looks exactly as I thought she would with her tattoo and hair and Ikki looks great!! And the new airbending suits are just whoa awesomeeeee. *calms down* I'm super excited as you can tell :D I know it's the last season, but I should enjoy it while it lasts.

Anywho, tomorrow I plan on posting more of The Illusion, my novel. I've been writing a ton of it lately, committing at least 100 to 200 words a day to it and am currently on chapter two. About 17 or so pages in my journal, by the way :D *dances around strangely*

See you soon peeps! I need to get my rest... badly. Night night... yawn.

Frosty Kitty Sketch

Since it's Sunday and I promised there would be a drawing, I'll post one. And hey, it's a three day week for me! Though my teachers are cramming in every possible test for some reason. Ugh. Anywho, here it is:

I based this off a cute photo of my cat, Frosty, that I took. Not completely done since there's coloring for the slipper she's lying on and the eyes, but pretty close to done. I can't help but want to hug the drawing because she's so darn cute! :D

Sometime this week I'll add another sneak peak, though it won't be like the normal sneak peaks I add with excerpts. I really shouldn't reveal too much (though you guys probably don't know what's exactly happening in them). Oh the suspense of waiting ;-)

I better go and finish up those 100 words since I was lazy today and then go to bed. I hope those tests are easy... bye all!

Doctor Who Season Eight: Listen

Ok, I just saw this last night. And let me tell you, I was not expecting this to be a good episode. The synopsis even says, "When ghosts of past and future crowd into their lives, the Doctor and Clara are thrown into an adventure that takes them to the very end of the universe." It sounded to me like Utopia with the end of the universe deal; cliché. How very wrong I was.

Season eight has gotten better and better. Into the Dalek was rising up, but still not that great of an episode. I was almost impressed. The Robot of Sherwood nearly won me over, but there was still something missing. Listen filled in that gap.

The episode starts out a bit eerily with the Doctor talking to himself in the TARDIS. While he is talking, he comes up with a theory: What if when we're talking to ourselves we really aren't and we're not alone? What if there was a creature that was so good at hiding you couldn't even sense it? The one word 'Listen' appears on one of his chalkboards while he turns around. Ahhhhh what is this?! (By the way, I'm starting to like the intro. The music is a bit off but it's growing on me.)

The next scene is Clara with Danny Pink on their first date. I have to admit, I like the two together. Especially as the episode progresses. Though the date does not go well and Clara walks out. She finds the Doctor in her bedroom, who is making fun of her having three mirrors xD He needs her so he can find out what the invisible creature looks like. I think everyone at this point was like, "Doctor... uh, what creature...?" But he persists. He uses her to pilot the TARDIS via the telepathic thing without getting distracted. However, she does when her phone rings saying it's Danny. And then they end up at a children's home. The Doctor assumes it's still her, when it's obviously not because she had never been to a children's home. .___. Oh Doctor. It ends up being where Danny lived as Rupert Pink in the 90s. Clara goes up to him and talks about why he is the only one up. He says he had a dream about someone grabbing him. To prove there is nothing to be afraid of, Clara goes under the bed, Danny joining her. My heart was beating, oh, probably 15 times faster than normal. And then someone was on the bed o_o They both shimmy out and see there is something sitting on the bed covered with the red bed spread. One thing I am dying to know that the episode did not reveal is what exactly that thing was. It disappeared once they promised not to look at it and whaaat? I am more confused and freaked out than critical of this scene. I need to know!!

Then Clara goes back to Danny, apologizing for walking out. But then they have a fight D: (Oh, and the reason Danny doesn't remember her is because the Doctor used his sonic and he only remembers himself in the "dream".) Danny walks out this time instead of her. The TARDIS is in site outside the restaurant and supposedly the Doctor is in an orange space suit, motioning her to come. Annoyed, she follows, ranting at him about various things and then... it's not the Doctor, but Danny. But it's not Danny, it's this guy Orson Pink. Apparently a great-grandkid of her's in the future that ended up at the end of the universe in an experiment. I was thinking exactly what Clara was like: whatnothiscan'tbehappeningrightImarryDannyorsomethingorwhatisgoingonrightnow??!!

*takes deep breath* Phew. Besides that, apparently there's something out there on the end of the universe planet that is locked away. Like that creature.... Basically everything goes by in a blur when the Doctor stupidly opens the locked door and Orson saves him and he passes out. And after that, Clara uses the telepathic thing in the TARDIS to pilot them home... and ends up somewhere very unexpected. A boy is crying in a barn under the covers. Clara goes up the ladder to comfort him, but then hides under the bed when two people come. They mention that "he's been through a lot" and "he can't stop crying." And then the last line is something like "He'll never make a good Time Lord." The realization hit me that this was Gallifrey or somewhere near there. The boy gets up out of bed when he hears Clara and asks who's there. She grabs his ankle, ironically and tells him to go back up on the bed. He does, with hesitation and Clara joins him. Then she makes an awesome quote (I should make an art piece of it or something): "So listen. If you listen to nothing else, listen to this. You're always gonna be afraid even if you learn to hide it. Fear is like a companion. A constant companion, always there. But that's ok. Because fear can bring us together. Fear can bring you home. Fear makes companions of us all." And she also mentions he'll return to the barn one day and have to make a difficult choice. And oh my freaking God. It's the Doctor. When he was in his first incarnation but still a kid. I must know more gosh darn it!!

And then the episode ends with that, all suspenseful. Now I'm actually excited for the next episode :D I'm definitely liking Peter Capaldi! It took me until this episode to fully like him and for that I'm really happy. 8/10 to an 8.5/10 for this episode. I totally recommend watching it fellow Whovians!

Oh, and stay tuned for my next drawing and novelly thing~

Sneak Peak Number Five ((And 3D Printing))

It's that novel related time again! It's about time for me to post another sneak peak. So here it be:

Beep! Beep! The maroon minivan's car horn got Gwen's attention immediately. She swiveled her head until she spotted her dad's car behind some other cars passing by.

"Hey, you know what day it is?" Mr. Blackwell said. He cupped one ear with his hand, the other on the wheel as the engine rumbled.

"I don't know, what day is it?" Gwen replied back. It was practically impossible for her to hide her smile.

"Hump day! Which just so happens to also be the day when my presentation starts!" He winked and shot his free hand into the air, pumping a fist.

"Hump daaaay!" She shouted, opening the sliding door. Just when her thoughts had moved long away from the subject, she caught a glimpse of the same girl in the corner of her eye. She turned around, only to see a few fallen leaves scuttle across the now empty sidewalk.

Gwen blinked, confused at the matter. She decided to shrug it off. The girl probably left when she wasn't looking, that was the only explanation that came to mind. She could not have just vanished. She wished, for an instant, that that could be possible. But as far as she knew and what her dad told her, stuff like that only happened in stories.

I wish my life was a story worth telling. Gwen thought. She ducked into the minivan, the door locking silently behind her.

This is a draft for my first chapter as I'm still rewriting it for the seventh time :P Ok, slight exaggeration but you get my drift. I really like how this is going so far and the 100 words for 100 days challenge it helping a ton! Tell me what you peeps think in the comments!

And, like the title says, I shall add a 3D printing thing I got made at my school. For those who don't know, you can 3D print with the help of a 3D printer (like from the company MakerBot that my school has). There's this website called Thingiverse where people design things for just that, and I picked out an Ood from the show Doctor Who. Here it be:
I was originally going to do it in blue, but it was out. Still looks pretty rad.
Pretty cool, right? Big and mini Ood. Planning to print a baby Groot next since I am such a Guardians of the Galaxy geek and maybe paint it to look more tree like. Anywho, that's all I can think of for now, peeps! See you next time!

Pixelmator Drawings!

So, I got the free trial of Pixelmator and I love it :D Definitely getting it soon! It's really fun to mess around with and figure out how to use. Thought I'd share some of the drawings on here!

...I know, I haven't exactly been novelling for the past few days. Agh. Today I'm getting back into that, and the 100 words for 100 days challenge on Go Teen Writers should help some more. I'm aiming for 500 words a day (or less), no excuses. And one or two drawings a week on Pixelmator to help that artistic flow.

Without further ado, here's the improved Toph, my first ever computer drawing!
I used mostly airbrushes for coloring, the lasso tool to get everything neat and some smudging here and there in case you're wondering :3
Do you think she looks good? I like it, though I think I can maybe improve it some more with blurring shades or something. But hey, it's my first, so I can always get better!

And, as an extra, here is a pixelated Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy:
I did this with the pixel brush tool. Excited for my first pixel drawing!
Came out a bit blurry, and clicking on it just shows that it was small and I had to resize it. Ah well. (And I'm sorry if it didn't show up for some of you, as I tried to access it at school with our Windows 7 and it didn't come up. To view, probably use a Mac.)

I think I'll be able to take requests for drawings, possibly, if I have a picture for reference. That would be nice. For now, I really should study those volume formulas, and afterwards, write! The Kyra Lyn Moss is out :-)

Toph Beifong Drawing

Yes! It is done! My Toph Beifong drawing is finally here! I finally got the right colors for the skin and eyes! Here it be peeps:

Very excited since this is my first decent person I've drawn, even if it's a cartoon. I used mostly colored pencil, but then used crayon for the skin color and a bit for the eyes. The eyes need to be a bit more blind looking, but that's all right since I plan on getting this cool tool called Pixelmator soon. (Hopefully this month.) It's going to help a lot in editing drawings and such. I'm going to make a more enhanced version that looks more digital pretty soon!

Maybe, if I keep practicing, I can make some illustrations of my characters in my novel :D That. Would. Be. Coolio. For now, keep practicing until it looks like da bomb dot com.

Anywho, that's it! Short blog post, I know. You'll get longer ones soon enough and more drawings! Bye for now fellow peeps, for my bed is calling me... and stick around!

Sneak Peak Number Four

Hey guys! I've been so busy with cross country and school I haven't exactly been posting so much. Darn. I'm working on two reviews for the second and third Doctor Who season eight episodes that came out, but for now, novelling!

I really should get back into my word count goals and such to move it along faster. But hey! I'm done with the prologue, that's good news! And sometime this week, for the fun of it, I shall also post a drawing of Toph for Avatar that I drew :3 I just have the eyes and shadows to do, that's all! Anyway, since you guys are probably eager to read some more of my novel, here's a tiny bit of it.

Get rid of her. A deep, gravelly voice said in her mind. It was intruding, it wasn’t supposed to be there, she thought in her weak state. She attempted to push it away but the being was too strong and stubborn. Panic flooded Gwen to the top. There was no way out of this that she could see.
Listen to me, Gwen Blackwell. If you do not kill your friend in fifteen minutes, more than just Illusions, Inc. will be taken over. The ink blot on the map is already spreading.
Maybe she would just have to play along with the entity. Maybe it would go away then. And hopefully that wasn’t her friend down there. As soon as she thought that, the entity laughed.
Playing along will suit fine. Pricks crawled on her skin as if someone was right behind her. Can’t have you trying to kick me out, however. Tut tut. Play along and be silent. Don’t fight it. What’s the point in that? It will only hurt.
The pricks creeping up her skin turned as frigid as being dipped into an ice covered pond. Gwen realized could not feel herself breath. There was no need to breath anymore.
“You remember me, Gwen, I know you remember! For once, just this time, listen to me. Snap out of it!”

So how was that peeps? The sneak peaks will probably get shorter and more mysterious as to not give any big spoilers away or the whole story. I'll be starting up my YouTube channel sometime this month, like I said, so look out for Kyra Lyn Moss on there! And I'll be posting more thoughts about life and other things besides my novel, so stay tuned! Like Porky Pig says, "That's All Folks!" (with much more stuttering)

Summer Days Past

My vacation house's front lawn. Sigh. I want to go back up there and read in the big 300 year old tree just thinking about it.
How the summer has gone by! I could've sworn it was the end of July or the middle of August. Now, September 3rd?! Gah! And I start school tomorrow, already?!

This summer was great and I really wish I could slow down time some more to make summer stay. I loved the remainder of June that I had and Camp NaNoWriMo during July. Seeing cool movies in my family's new basement at the vacation house was awesome too and felt like we were in a theater. The Jimmy Buffett concert at Bethel Woods was a thrill, seeing all those crazy parrotheads and going to the exclusive Beatles Experience. Even took a picture of an old cutout of the Beatles with it :D And even just quiet afternoons were nice, with nothing to worry about really. Just getting up and writing each day...Then August came and I got to go to Long Beach Island and enjoy the waves and at night playing Headsup competitively and watching the 70s movie Scavenger Hunt. When it was finally time to go, we soon had friends come over to the vacation house and that was tons of fun. We all did archery, played games like Catchphrase and Headsup (both very addicting games) and explored our property. My brother, my two friends and I discovered quite a few frogs and even a salamander! And mapped out the property for hiding places and paths for a man hunt that may or may not come soon with all of our friends. We also went to the Delaware County Fair and went on cool rides like the swings, Enterprise where you stick to the walls while it's spinning, Tornado while you spin the four seater while it spins, and lots of others. The animals there were neat as well, and my dad took a video of goat "talking" towards us xD Then we all went to our first Demolition Derby. Wow. It was incredible! The car art was nice, but the smashing cars was intense. There was even a huge fire for a few minutes from a punctured gas tank. Yeah. It was pretty long though so we had to leave at around 9:30 otherwise it would go until midnight.

After they left the next day, I realized how quite it was without visitors. Much less... excitement. That soon ended when my family and I went to a friend's lake house and went night swimming! Well, me, my brother and my friend Kayleigh anyway. The water was warm and going underwater was a favorite as well as the strange jumps into the lake we came up with. The day after we went to see the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie since it was rainy. Pretty good actually.

Everything has gone by in a blur. Me getting into Avatar: The Last Airbender, the rave party at the vacation house that we thought was going to turn out horribly, watching I Love Lucy, exploring the forest, going to sleepovers and reading tons of books... I'm sad to see it go.

Maybe I'm wrong about this year in school. 8th grade shouldn't be that hard. I hope. Earth Science sounds and looks interesting. I don't know what to expect this year, really.

But I do know I'm going to be working on my novel no matter what stands in the way. In a few weeks or so I'm going to start posting videos on my YouTube for The Illusion. Maybe, soon enough, I can get it out there and published in bookstores! That is my dream this year or the next. ...First, to finish it.

Well, peeps, it's been a spectacular summer! Don't worry, I'll keep posting my thoughts and sneak peaks, just not as much. I think I can post at least once a week now due to schoolwork and cross country. See ya soon on here and YouTube :D
