New Stylus, New Art

I've been meaning to post but I didn't know what to talk about. So I'll start off with a new stylus I got, the DotPen. (I'll tell you guys about a Penn Relays story later) Here's a picture of it:

I have to say, despite some reviews on Amazon, it is amazing. It runs on AAA batteries, one at a time, which is fine by me. I've been using it so much for a couple of weeks and I've only had to replace it once, today. And I think I've improved on my art, though it's fan art for the time being since I absolutely love Gravity Falls.

First one I did from Not What He Seems
Short comic of Stanford and Stanley :D
Yet another comic of Stanford and Stanley singing Lollipop because the way I imagine it, they're 50s or 60s kids

Mabel and Dipper hurrah
So how do you like it peeps? :D I plan on making a Gravity Falls tumblr sometime soon, but I had no time today as I was cleaning my room (it actually feels lighter ahh) I'm still deciding on a blog title though. Not going to reveal any choices because ya never know if they'll get stolen :p

I also plan on redesigning my novel characters this week, so stay tuned!

~Half glad there is a hiatus so I can get all this fan art done- and half incredibly impatient for the next episode~

Gravity Falls Hurray

Over the past few days I have gotten into Gravity Falls. And I regret nothing whatsover.

If you haven't watched it, go do so. It really is an awesome show!! I have to admit though, when I first saw commercials when it aired back in 2012, I thought it was another stupid show to avoid and turn mute on for the commercials. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME

Gravity Falls, in case you don't know, is a Disney show by Alex Hirsch (who is a total genius) about two twins, Dipper and Mabel Pines, who are sent to their Grunkle Stan for the summer by their parents, all electronics taken away. Which actually isn't so bad because of the people they meet and the things they do. And the mysteries to be solved...

So I got caught up within four days. I know, you're going to say that's "unhealthy". Well, Gravity Falls is not unhealthy, that's for sure. Even when I watch it at night and it keeps me awake, heck, I don't even feel that tired.

Also, I think I maaaay have improved on my art-ing because of this show. Just saying.

(Words for self-esteem unit in health class.)
Wendy and Bill
WIP of the original mystery twins. Spoilers, I know. But hey. You should be caught up by now *eye twitches*
And there will be more fan art to come, especially of Stanford and Stanley :D That last episode, Not What He Seems- probably the best episode ever to come to Gravity Falls. Things like these made it the best: **SPOILERS** mwa haha

I AM THE GOD OF DESTRUCTION
This scene D,: *goes to rewatch it*
Oh and foreshadowing LIKE A BOSS
And this fan art by kiki-kat on deviantart and tumblr... classic.

Probably can't get it on a t-shirt, sadly, so I shall make my own with zazzle :D Starting with that WIP Stanford and Stanley... (Oh and if his brother's name isn't Stanley I will be even more surprised than I was at the end of Not What He Seems.)

Hang in there peeps! Episode 12 in the summer... *cries inside*

Aristotle and Dante, Tintin, Camp NaNo and a Collage

I figured I should catch up on my blog. It's already April. April 3rd at that. Weird. I'm just glad there still isn't school. I feel a lot better up here, upstate. The birds are chirping, the stream's water has come back, the snow is melting... all in all, things are good. I'll go and sum up what's been happening the past few days.

Tuesday I watched Unbroken. Pretty good movie, but it was sad. And those sharks scared me. The Bird, the Japanese general, was also uh messed up. It really was a good movie, about 2 and a half hours. I'd be terrified to be in Louie's position, falling into the ocean and at sea for 48 days. Geez.

Wednesday my brother and Dad went back downstate since my brother had a race to go to. So it was a mother-daughter day :D We got up late (as I've been doing for the past week) and then went to the Green Toad, an amazing bookstore that seems to have all the books I'm looking for. Here's a photo because why not:

It's small, but it's cute :3 I got Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and the Adventures of Tintin Volume 1. Aristotle and Dante, so far, is great. It's really hard to put down, and when I do, I sort of wonder why I did it. Same with The Book Thief. And Tintin is a very interesting comic. It's from the 30s in case you don't know. Tintin is a kid reporter that's rich and lives on his own with his dog Snowy and he stops crime all the time. It's entertaining and I now I realize they did an awesome job with that movie in 2011. Wait, 2011? Crap. Time flies. I should go rewatch that. Anyway, they're both really amazing books.

And ah. Camp NaNo. "Kyra, you should be writing!" But I am. I'm blogging. "Write your novel already! We want to read it!" Ok, maybe you're not even thinking that. But hey, I have been writing. I'm on Chapter Five, you guys! Remember how I kept saying I'd get to Chapter Four? Well, I did, and now I'm on Chapter Five. Yippee. I wrote a little bit today. Don't worry, I'll get to it. I just want to blog now. Blogging's fun.

Also, my collage. I was bored and took down all the pictures I had printed out on my wall, picked some to keep, and threw out the rest. Plus, Olivia the Geek gave me the idea. Then I printed out around 60 or more pictures of stuff I liked, including Doctor Who, Buffy, Avengers, Big Hero 6, Guardians of the Galaxy, Back to the Future, The Book Thief, etc. There are probably a lot of artists who are either going to be glad I included their art in my collage, or really angry and cursing me off the face of the Earth because I didn't ask. *shots fired* So, uh, please don't kill me, fellow artists, for not asking. I was sort of shy, didn't know how to contact some of you, and plus I printed out a ton of pictures so I'd have to ask tons of people. Some of it was official art, but there was fan art I really adored and yeah. Just don't go hating on me, ok? Here's a photo of it:

This took Tuesday through most of Wednesday to make. Now that I think about it, it doesn't seem that big if I stare at it longer. Huh.
I like how it turned out :D And printing all this out has inspired me art-wise. Though I haven't gotten myself to draw much since I've been taken an unintentional hiatus on drawing things and instead have been writing. But yeah. And my favorites on here have to be "I need a Hiro" sung by Tadashi, the green one near the manta ray pancake, Liesel and Rudy on the far right, Groot with stars next to Peggy-cap, Captain America and Black Widow... ok I'll be quiet now xD I really love all of them, they're all cool beans :3

And today, well, I'm going out to dinner, so I'll fill you guys in if anything coolio happens.

I think that's all I wanted to write, peeps. Did I mention blogging my thoughts is actually fun? Hm. Yeah, I know I already did.
