Aristotle and Dante, Tintin, Camp NaNo and a Collage

I figured I should catch up on my blog. It's already April. April 3rd at that. Weird. I'm just glad there still isn't school. I feel a lot better up here, upstate. The birds are chirping, the stream's water has come back, the snow is melting... all in all, things are good. I'll go and sum up what's been happening the past few days.

Tuesday I watched Unbroken. Pretty good movie, but it was sad. And those sharks scared me. The Bird, the Japanese general, was also uh messed up. It really was a good movie, about 2 and a half hours. I'd be terrified to be in Louie's position, falling into the ocean and at sea for 48 days. Geez.

Wednesday my brother and Dad went back downstate since my brother had a race to go to. So it was a mother-daughter day :D We got up late (as I've been doing for the past week) and then went to the Green Toad, an amazing bookstore that seems to have all the books I'm looking for. Here's a photo because why not:

It's small, but it's cute :3 I got Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and the Adventures of Tintin Volume 1. Aristotle and Dante, so far, is great. It's really hard to put down, and when I do, I sort of wonder why I did it. Same with The Book Thief. And Tintin is a very interesting comic. It's from the 30s in case you don't know. Tintin is a kid reporter that's rich and lives on his own with his dog Snowy and he stops crime all the time. It's entertaining and I now I realize they did an awesome job with that movie in 2011. Wait, 2011? Crap. Time flies. I should go rewatch that. Anyway, they're both really amazing books.

And ah. Camp NaNo. "Kyra, you should be writing!" But I am. I'm blogging. "Write your novel already! We want to read it!" Ok, maybe you're not even thinking that. But hey, I have been writing. I'm on Chapter Five, you guys! Remember how I kept saying I'd get to Chapter Four? Well, I did, and now I'm on Chapter Five. Yippee. I wrote a little bit today. Don't worry, I'll get to it. I just want to blog now. Blogging's fun.

Also, my collage. I was bored and took down all the pictures I had printed out on my wall, picked some to keep, and threw out the rest. Plus, Olivia the Geek gave me the idea. Then I printed out around 60 or more pictures of stuff I liked, including Doctor Who, Buffy, Avengers, Big Hero 6, Guardians of the Galaxy, Back to the Future, The Book Thief, etc. There are probably a lot of artists who are either going to be glad I included their art in my collage, or really angry and cursing me off the face of the Earth because I didn't ask. *shots fired* So, uh, please don't kill me, fellow artists, for not asking. I was sort of shy, didn't know how to contact some of you, and plus I printed out a ton of pictures so I'd have to ask tons of people. Some of it was official art, but there was fan art I really adored and yeah. Just don't go hating on me, ok? Here's a photo of it:

This took Tuesday through most of Wednesday to make. Now that I think about it, it doesn't seem that big if I stare at it longer. Huh.
I like how it turned out :D And printing all this out has inspired me art-wise. Though I haven't gotten myself to draw much since I've been taken an unintentional hiatus on drawing things and instead have been writing. But yeah. And my favorites on here have to be "I need a Hiro" sung by Tadashi, the green one near the manta ray pancake, Liesel and Rudy on the far right, Groot with stars next to Peggy-cap, Captain America and Black Widow... ok I'll be quiet now xD I really love all of them, they're all cool beans :3

And today, well, I'm going out to dinner, so I'll fill you guys in if anything coolio happens.

I think that's all I wanted to write, peeps. Did I mention blogging my thoughts is actually fun? Hm. Yeah, I know I already did.

  1. Would you recommend Aristotle and Dante? I've seen it on YouTube book reviews a couple of times, but I was never sure. And oh boy, if it's like, "The Book Thief," I think I already know the answer. :D
*tearing up* Look at that little collage, all grown up. xD

    1. Yep, I'd definitely recommend Aristotle and Dante :D Heck, I stayed up till one in the morning until I finally finished it. It was really hard to put down. One more page, Kyra. One more page. That ended up being the whole book xD It wasn't as sad as The Book Thief, but it was as interesting and cool beans :3
I think I might add onto the collage over the year. See how big is gets. Maybe not though. I like it the way it is now :-)
