Cinderella, a Quilt Show and My Novel

Yesterday was great :D I went to this quilt and antique show in my town in upstate NY. The quilts were pretty new and awesomely colorful. The antiques though... ahhh history is brilliant! There was a phonograph from 1900, a 1940s hat, a 1950s hat, WWII medals and photos, WWI era dresses and jackets- and there was a railroad car from the 1880s!! Sadly I couldn't go inside but I could look inside. Old cramped bedrooms and bathrooms... it was interesting.

After that, I went to the new live-action movie of Cinderella. I usually don't like these kinds of movies, but it was actually very good. The acting was great, and the animations as well. I like how they didn't make Cinderella a weak "damsel in distress" if you know what I mean. And the message it added, "Have courage and be kind." was a nice touch too.

And before the movie started, there was a Frozen short called Frozen Fever. Sooo cute!! In case you don't know the plot, it's Anna's birthday and Elsa is trying to make it as perfect as possible. "Making Today a Perfect Day" was stuck in my head for the most of yesterday. Now I have *surprise* Buffy score songs in my head like "Sacrifice" from the episode The Gift, and the Once More With Feeling soundtrack is still in my head too. Here's "Sacrifice" which is guaranteed to make you cry if you're a Buffy fan and gah know what happens:

Anywho, I'm almost done for real with that chapter four! I even have been working on it *gasp* I'll add a part of it that I thought was random and funny xD It's three Reptilians, or reptile humanoids, the antagonists in my novel, arguing in a lair in Ilusions, Inc. (where Gwen's dad works) disguised as scientists. Well, it's mainly two of them that don't agree too well:

"Mm mm mm- as you walk on by, will you call my name? Da da da!"
"Shut up Craig!" The other scientist besides him moaned. It looked like the guy Lyra had been chasing. "Honestly! How can you even enjoy these meaningless sound frequencies the humans so adore? Are you a human, Craig? Because I'm starting to think you are."
"No, no, I'm not! I like Simple Minds and uh the Ramones, ok? Is that so bad? I'm not even breaking the code, are I?”
“This,” Another, taller scientist stepped between them. “Is a place of secrecy. Do you want the whole building to know about us? The plan is so close to being finished, and you chatterboxes might as well ruin it with your ongoing arguments!”
“We apologize, mister. We did not intend to be so loud.”
“We?! You mean you ‘did not intend to be so loud’. Go apologize, Craig.”
“No, Hector. I shall not apologize when it is you that needs to do so.”
“Your scales are showing Craig! Scaly Craig, scaly Craig- it is your fault!”
“What did I just say?” The taller scientist spat in their faces. “Do you two listen to a word your leaders say?”
“Of- of course! We are terribly sorry, mister.”
“Actually- oof!” Craig jabbed Hector in the stomach. “Yes, we are terribly sorry.”

I have a weird sense of humor, don't I? I was cracking up at this for awhile last night xD If you get the references, I applaud you.

I think it's ok if I make a post on the Father-Daughter Dance I went to with a pic, right? I'm thinking of getting an Instagram to promote my art and maybe novel and to connect with peeps I haven't seen in awhile so yeah pictures of me and all will be on there. (Man it's hard to concentrate with Lego Star Wars on) So yup. I think that's all, mis amigos. Bye-o~

New Books Yay!!

Super excited about the books I got in the mail yesterday! Trying to go through them slow, as they are comic books. I don't usually read comics, but these ones are good. Trust me.

Bone: Tall Tales is super-duper good, especially if you're a Bone fan. If you're not, go read it. Just go. Tall Tales takes place after the Bone series when the Bone cousins, Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone get back to Boneville. Sadly, no there are no pictures of Boneville. Smiley and his rat creature friend, Bartleby, bring three Bones to go out camping in the forest, and there Smiley Bone tells tales, like Phoney and Fone Bone following a treasure map to somewhere trying to get out of laundry duties at Gran'ma Ben's, and many Big Johnson Bone stories, the founder of Boneville.

I haven't finished it yet, but let me tell ya. Johnson Bone is a bit wacked xD And, of course, his tales are a bit tall, but entertaining no matter. Again, I definitely recommend this to a Bone fan. I didn't realize how much I missed the Bone cousins when I opened this. I mean, I have the whole volume of Bone (1332 pages whaaat) but I've been reading other books and have forgotten it on my book pile on my chair. I should really clean that up sometime :|

So yup. Go read this. Love Bone. Cry over Bone. Live Bone. (I know barely anyone has heard of it that I know of sadly. Bone needs to live on in generations to come!)

Yep, I got a Spike comic. I couldn't resist. Apparently it takes place during season 9 whoops spoilers. Not so much though. But gahhh the illustrations are amazing! And I can practically hear Spike talking through the pages! So heh the summary: **SPOILERS**

Spike's ready for a vacation from everything, mostly his life, and, well, Buffy the vampire slayer. So he hitches a ride on a spaceship with bug aliens. Yup, that was pretty weird. But I got used to them. They're actually funny, and they worship Spike as their leader xD So anyway, he's headed to the moon for the heck of it until he's stopped by some demons looking for Sunnydale. And then people from Spike's past pop up, and a new demon girl Morgan tempts him to move on from Buffy.

*internal screaming* No no no no. I'm a hard shipper for Spuffy (and Bangel, pretty much equally but at the moment my Spuffy feels are high) so I have to say I reaaaally don't like Morgan. I mean, she's a good character, I give her credit for that. But her with Spike?! Nah. Nope. Nada. Anywho, I recommend this if you've finished Buffy already or hey even if you're not it's still awesome :D

So those were my two comic books! Cool to the beans indeed, fellow friends. What do you think of them? You guys gonna check them out? Or you think they're stupid :O They're not, though. Like I said, trust me. When Kyra says a book is good, it is. It just is.

I'm working on some art this week too, so be patient peeps! Here's a gif to say good-bye for now!

More Art By the Kyra Lyn Moss... And More

Hey-o peeps! How goes thee? I know I didn't post any art this week since I sort of had an art-block and was lazy, so here's some now:

Cute Baymax I drew! I recently rewatched Big Hero 6 and love it even more <3

Hedgehog dude I drew. ;3  Inspired by this French artist.

Oldie old old drawing I drew back in December for my novel. Don't steal peeps.

Currently trying to keep away from watching the rest of season 5 of Buffy because it's so darn addicting. Plus I'm waiting for certain peeps to catch up ;) In the meantime I will be rewatching episodes and attempting to watch Firefly. I started the first episode and have no idea what's going on. The only part I understood was "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!" I may try out Angel and Carmilla too, both of which I keep getting recommended for.

Also, I went to this awesome Father-Daughter Dance in NJ and danced so hard my feet hurt afterwards and I couldn't get to sleep for awhile xD But hey, I got a trophy for dancing excellently to Uptown Funk haha. It was worth it! Totally and completely. I got penne ale vodka, chicken francaise, meatballs bread and all and actually finished it, when I normally am full by then! And the ice cream there- heavenly. (My dad took two.)

I encourage you fellow peeps to check out my sidebar too, in which I have my deviantart and Pinterest :D It'd be cool if you followed either or both! And I now have a followers widget, so following this blog (that doesn't have to be via e-mail) would also be cool beans. Thanks again!
